Creating a Windows Domain Controller in Azure
Learn the best practices to extending your on premises infrastructure to the cloud
This course will take you through the process of creating a stand alone Windows Domain Controller (DC) on the Azure IaaS platform. Your'll be taken through the planning stages and then how to create the base Azure VM using the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) portal. You'll see the best practices recommendations you should adopt for creating a traditional domain and AD as well as the standard practices of configuring a Windows Domain Controller by the normal promotion methods.
The course will also show you how to start extending the Azure IaaS environment with the addition of a member server, attached to the DC created on an Azure VM. Finally, you'll learn about the different options to consider when it comes to migrating an on premises domain infrastructure into Azure IaaS.

He is also a Small Business Specialist, Microsoft Certified SharePoint Professional and Office 365 Administrator. Robert has over 20 years of IT experience in a variety of fields and positions, including working on Wall St in New York. He continues his involvement with information technology as the Principal of the Computer Information Agency.
Apart from resolving client technical issues, Robert continues to present at seminars locally and internationally, as well as write on a number for topics for the Computer Information Agency. Robert has been President of the SMBiTPro community in Sydney. Since 2012 Robert has been awarded a Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award from Microsoft for his contributions around the Office 365 product. He also develops and presents technology courses on a regular basis at various locations.
